กล้วยไม้เอื้องกุหลาบเหลืองโคราช (Aerides houlletiana Rchb.f.)
จัดอยู่ในสกุลเอื้องกุหลาบ (Aerides) มีถิ่นกำเนิดในภูมิภาคอินโดจีนได้แก่ประเทศ ไทย ลาว กัมพูชา และเวียดนาม เป็นกล้วยไม้ที่มีลักษณะการเจริญเติบโตทางยอด ต้นมักจะขึ้นตรงหรือเอนห้อยลง แผ่นใบหนาและแข็งสีเขียวสด ปลายใบตัดมีรอยเว้าสองแฉกไม่เท่ากัน ใบกว้างประมาณ 3 เซนติเมตรยาวประมาณ 15 เซนติเมตร รากเป็นแบบรากอากาศ ดอกเป็นช่อห้อยลงยาวประมาณ 15-30 เซนติเมตรมีดอกช่อละ 15-20 ดอก สีดอกมีสีเหลืองพบทั้งสีเหลืองอ่อน-ขาวไปจนถึงเหลือง-ส้ม มีสีชมพูม่วงบริเวณปลายกลีบดอก หลังดอก และบริเวณปากดอก มีกลิ่นหอมพบตามป่าผลัดใบหรือป่าดิบแล้งในประเทศไทย ทางภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ที่ระดับความสูง 200 ถึง 1,000 เมตรในระดับน้ำทะเล

เอื้องกุหลาบเหลืองโคราชนี้
เอื้อง หมายถึง กล้วยไม้, กุหลาบ เป็นชื่อสกุลของกล้วยไม้ชนิดนี้ (Aerides) ที่นักพฤกษศาสตร์ชาวไทยในอดีตจำแนกไว้เพราะเป็นสกุลที่มีลักษณะเด่นคือดอกมีกลิ่นหอม, เหลือง หมายถึง สีเหลืองที่กลีบดอกซึ่งเป็นสีที่หายากในสกุลเอื้องกุหลาบ เนื่องจากสกุลนี้โดยมากแล้วจะเป็นสีขาวและชมพู, โคราชเป็นชื่อท้องถิ่นของจังหวัดนครราชสีมา ทั้งยังเป็นชื่อของที่ราบสูงโคราชซึ่งเป็นแหล่งกระจายพันธุ์ของกล้วยไม้ชนิดนี้เช่นกัน การประชุมวิชาการและการจัดแสดงครั้งนี้จึงอยากนำ "เอื้องกุหลาบเหลืองโคราช" มานำเสนอให้กับผู้มาเยี่ยมชมทุกท่านด้วยความอบอุ่น

Aerides houlletiana Rchb.f.
is a Thai orchid. Its origin is from Indochina, mostly Laos and Vietnam. It is noteworthy that the shoots straight up or leaning down. The leaves are thick and hard, bright green, with two unequal indentations at the tip. The leaves are about 3 cm wide and 15 cm long. The roots are aerial (epiphyte). The flowers are in hanging clusters, about 15-30 cm long, with 15-20 flowers per inflorescence. The flower color is yellow, ranging from light yellow-white to yellow-orange. There is a pink-purple color at the tip of the petal, on the back of the flower, and on the lip of the flower. It has a good fragrance. It is found in deciduous forests or dry evergreen forests in Thailand, in the northeastern region, at 200 -1,000 meters above sea level.

In Thai, it is called Aueng-Kularb-Lueng-Korat. Aueng means Orchid. Kularb in Thai means Rose because the former Thai botanist called this genus (Aerides) because of fragrant-smelling like rose. Lueng means Yellow. Korat is the local name of Nakhon Ratchasima province. The name of Korat (Khorat) plateau is also a distribution area for this orchid.
